Applicants to AFA’s Teen Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship are asked to describe ways in which Alzheimer’s has impacted them. Many stories include years of visiting grandparents at memory care facilities, volunteering at nursing homes, or caring for a loved one at home. Gosnold, Inc., the Cape's largest provider of addiction and mental health services, is offering $2,500 scholarships to two graduating seniors who have been accepted and are entering college in the Fall of 2026.  The student must plan to major in psychology, social work, or another field of study that is relevant to addiction and/or mental health. A maximum of twenty, one thousand dollar ($1,000), scholarships shall be awarded annually by the Charitable and Educational Trust of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America. The Annual AFL-CIO Scholarship and Labor Education Program is in its 68th year. Through the program, the Massachusetts AFL-CIO and affiliated unions are proud to award financial resources to high school students pursuing trade union programs or college/university study. ­The Massachusetts AFL-CIO administers half a million dollars of scholarship awards on behalf of unions and labor councils throughout the state. Individual awards range from $500 to $16,000. 

To qualify, students must be a senior in high school, fill out the online application and then take our exam. Applicants must register in advance at www.massaflcio.org/scholarships. The exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions and one written essay. The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) invites all high school students (9th through 12th grades) interested in the American Revolution to participate in the George S. & Stella M. Knight Essay Contest. The contest is open to all US Citizen and Legal Resident students attending home schools, public, parochial, or private high schools in that same grade range.

The New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC) announces its Annual Essay Contest for high school juniors and seniors. NEACAC is an educational association of more than 3,500 secondary school counselors, college and university admission and financial aid counselors, and individuals who work with students in the transition from high school to post-secondary education.

High school juniors and seniors from NEACAC-member high schools in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont are invited to participate in an essay contest.  Please check back for the 2026 essay information.

The New England Statistical Society Scholarships for Underrepresented Minorities advances the representation of underrepresented groups in statistics and data science by supporting graduating high school seniors and first/second-year undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in a data science-related field (e.g., statistics, quantitative fields in social science, math, engineering, and computer science). This is the 53rd consecutive year that Pilgrim Skating Arena is awarding scholarships to high school seniors planning to further their education. Pilgrim has granted 600 merit-based scholarships totaling $2,472,500.00. You do not need to be a hockey player or figure skater to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded based on merit, not financial need. Interested seniors must sign for their application in person when picking up at Pilgrim’s pro shop. All applicants are required to sign the log sheet. The scholarship applications will be available on February 14-April 3rd. Established in 2019 to honor Progress co-founder Mary Székely (pronounced: “See-kay”), the Progress Software Mary Székely Scholarship for Women in STEM is a $10,000 four-year renewable scholarship for a Massachusetts woman, including those identifying as a woman, who plan to major in computer science, software engineering, IT and/or computer information systems.  Applications will open in March 2026.

The New England Service Scholarship recognizes graduating high school seniors across New England who are making a meaningful impact through service in their local communities by awarding them a $1,000 college scholarship. In addition to receiving the scholarship, recipients will engage in a day of programming on Tuesday, June 30 including a “Community Career Panel” focused on community-facing careers, a group service project, and a pregame ceremony on the field at Fenway Park before the 7:10pm game against the Washington Nationals.
